Introduction
Bridges is a program for young adults in transition to greater inddpencence. The focus is on developing life skills, acquiring work experience, learning appropriate social, communication and problem solving skills, and connecting with generic services such as recreation facilities, local businesses (for work experience or supported employment), and community colleges.
Learning takes place in small groups and individualized situations. The program is entirely community-based, and participants may attend full-time or part-time, up to 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Eligibility and funding are determined by CLBC, which makes referrals from its waitlist.
